It’s National Condom Awareness Week and practicing safe sex is a must. In the words of Lil Wayne, “safe sex is great sex…better wear a latex”. Over the years, different styles and types of condoms have developed like glow in the dark, flavored, textured, warming, edible, etc. However, a new development might change the safe-sex game forever.
Three British teens recently proposed an idea for a new type of condom that will detect sexually transmitted diseases amongst intimate partners. The Washington Post explains:
This proposal won the trio the top prize in the U.K’s TeenTech Awards and is currently in the works to become an actual product on the shelves. This new condom could potentially reduce the amount of people getting sexually transmitted infections. It is still unclear on whether the STIs would be detected in just the user’s partner or also the user as well. There is also the question of what would happen if the condom came into contact with two or more STDS. Regardless the discovery is still super dope and we commend the kids who came up with the idea, keep innovating!
