Notorious B.I.G. ‘One More Chance’ Documentary In Production

As the 20th anniversary of Notorious B.I.G.‘s tragic death draws near, a biographical documentary is officially underway.

Under the direction of the Malloy Brothers, the life and times of the legendary rapper will be brought to the small screen. The duo are the masterminds behind many music videos including Metallica’s “St. Anger” and “White Stripes.” Submarine and ByStorm films will serve as the film’s co-producers, Variety reports.

While this isn’t the first documentary to chronicle the life of the Brooklyn emcee, the project is the first to receive approval from Biggie’s estate. In collaboration with the rap icon’s mother Voletta Wallace, the doc will chart the rise and lasting impact of Biggie’s music before his untimely passing at the age of 24.

“It brings so much joy to my heart that my son Christopher’s music has made such an impact on the music community and his stories have positively inspired so many young men and women over the years, and still influencing the youth all over the world today,” Wallace said in a statement.

It will be interesting to see the differences in this film’s approach–as Ms. Wallace is helping to achieve her desired result. We’re all anxious to know just how deep the documentary will. And, unfortunately, the wait for the film may be longer than expected with no set release date as of now.
