Solange Wows With Beautiful ‘SNL’ Performances


Solange made her Saturday Night Live debut with a stunning ethereal showcase. She Performed two popular tracks off her acclaimed, chart-topping LP A Seat at the Table, “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair.”  For Solange’s second performance of the night, she welcomed British singer Sampha, the track’s featured guest.

Soon after the albums release Solange unveiled music videos for both “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair.” A Seat at the Table is her first album in nearly eight years.  Solange’s appearance marked the first time since 2008 that a Knowles had served as an SNL musical guest: Beyoncé last appeared on the late-night sketch series in 2008 to perform “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” and “If I Were a Boy. Beyoncé and their mother Tina Knowles-Lawson were also at Rockefeller Center to support Solange before her debut on the “legendary” SNL.

Many of us watching at home were certainly in awe of the art direction of both performances. Everything from wardrobe to choreography was breathtaking. Solange’s hair was definitely the talk of the night, her beaded braids is reported to have taken more than 40 hours to prepare. What are your thoughts on Solange’s ‘SNL’ debut?.
