Teyana Taylor Talks Being Superwoman For Paper Magazine’s Fall Fashion Issue

You can’t mention 2016 without noting Teyana Taylor. After leaving the world in  daze following her epic dance routine for Kanye West’s “Fade” visual, the mother of Baby Junie is continuing her success as a featured cover star for PAPER’s Living for Fashion Issue.

The Harlem native spoke to the magazine about her buzzing career since the premiere of “Fade” and why Baby Junie gave her the confidence to wear all or nothing. The video has garnered over 26 million YouTube views since its viral debut. Aside from her mogul baby Junie, her husband and Cleveland Cavaliers player Iman Shumpert appeared in the dazzling video as well thanks to Kanye West. Aside from discussing her new album which is the follow up to her R&B album VII, Taylor revealed that it was West’s idea to have her family in the video with her:

“He was like, ‘It’s so dope because y’all so young and y’all fresh, but then y’all got the baby and the championship.’ I think that gave him the idea of wanting to see us all in the video together.”

Along with being a powerful woman in the world of music & entertainment, during her interview the Harlem native expressed why this moment in time couldn’t have come during the early stages of her career at 21 years old:

I honestly don’t feel like ‘Fade’ would have had the same effect had I just been 21, hot body, single. It was more than just dancing in a sports bra and a thong. You can be superwoman. You can have it all, that balance in your relationship, your family and your career. It’s the opposite of the cliché that says kids will slow you or your career down.

Both Teyana Taylor and Travis Scott grace the cover of PAPER’s  Living for Fashion issue with Travis being the Hip Hop rockstar that he is and Teyana serves us “The Hood Grace Jones.”
